Did Brazil’s World Cup Loss to the Netherlands Break Twitter?

The final whistle blew. The mighty Brazil fell to a Dutch team that was less than easy on the eyes. Good thing Dunga’s a tough guy, for he is about to take an epic beating. But let’s go on to the aftermath.

Twitter was already buzzing. As I went to post my latest brilliant thought in 140 characters or less, Twitter told me that it was over capacity. It’s happened before. So I hit the refresh button. Then I’m told that the website that I was looking for — Twitter — might have moved its website. In 140 words or less, I believe that Brazil’s loss destroyed Twitter’s server. (more…)

Google Earth Is Spying on South Africa’s World Cup Stadiums
