Mix-A-Lot, Rafa needs to conserve his meager supply of talent. It was obvious that this was a game for the boys. Hard to question him given how he decided to approach the game — as an opportunity to rest players and give reserves a chance to shine — a la Arsene.

Good game. League Cup matches are fun due to the free flowing football. Caught the 2nd half and I must say there wasn’t much in the way of defending either way. Question, why did Rafa play Yossi of the bench? Does he not realize how valuable this guy is, especially with Gerrard out? Odd.

Milan are struggling big time.Leonardo hasn’t made the ideal start to life on their bench. I hope they give him some more time on the job…

And agreed with the Shearer comment. No coaching experience and had they given a qualified person the job last year, they would have survived relagation.

Good result for the Gunners tonight…. i thought it was a great game and Liverpool played well…

Chris Hughton is a nice guy. For once Newcastle make a decision without first asking their fans for their opinion. Appointing Shearer was lunacy.

It is Spanish football so Real will probably pay Alcorcon off to go through. Of course the payment will be backed by the government.

Ashley is still in control of Newcastle and has no idea what he’s doing. He’s already put them in the Championship. If they get promoted, he’ll probably bring them right back down. That team needs to be sold to someone competent and fast before they go back up.

Guti, Van der Vart, Ruud,a Madrid name team worth £125m, with 465 caps….Something someone just told me that, it would be perfectly legal for the Alcorcon team to refuse to play the 2nd leg, get hit with an automatic 3-0 loss and still go through to the next round. Hmmm

Another news which brought a smile to my face was the Geordies giving Chris Hughton the manager’s job on a FT basis. One of the nice guys in football. He deserves it.

It’s not even like they fielded a weak team. They had Raul, Benzema and co. out there and they were down 3-0 in the first half. Money doesn’t buy heart. This team after Dan Snyder’s heart.
