Agreed mate. Hicks and Gillett have added nothing but debt and uncertainty since the moment they arrived. Despite all their big promises the stadium has not moved once millimetre closer to fruition. Also Liverpool FC's annual net transfer budget is no bigger than it was before they arrived so apart from their lumping their takeover debt onto the Club its impossible to find any benefit from their presence at the Club. They plainly don't have the resources to move the Club forward and never did regardless of the credit crunch (which is just a convenient excuse - after all if it is just a matter of borrowing money then why do Liverpool FC need the them at all ??). The club could have done this without them and in fact it would have been a much smaller loan. The truth is Rick Parry had the perfect owners all lined up but instead he plumped for these two clowns which just shows how woeful his judgment was. A simple google search on Tom Hicks would have told him everything he needed to know.

True, but cashing in would mean they fail to qualify for the CL (now and for the foreseeable future) and that would be disastrous for a club of Liverpool's magnitude. The best thing for LFC would be for them boys to sell, otherwise they would have succeeded in pulled an Isiah "Zeke" Thomas like apocalyptic destruction of shareholder value. To think that they may top Zeke? Sheesh!

Sir Mix... Spot on. Chelsea football club announced yesterday that they were selling the naming rights to the Bridge.....and you know Liverpool will have to do the same unless they are sold to a buyer with money...

The risks Gillet and Hicks are taking with the club..... The idea of borrowing continually to invest in the club is not sustainable. All the current profits are being used up to service the existing debt. Should profits fall for any reason (e.g. not qualifiying for the CL which could happen this season) then LFC cant pay the interest on the loan, the bank calls in the debt and the administrators move in. Or most likely cash in on Torres, Reina and Masherano. That alone would bring in over £100M....

Speaking or renaming rights, how long till LFC need to consider renaming the KOP? It is shocking how things have spiralled out of control. Gillett and Hicks are fast looking like Mike "Hey fans, please make business decisions for me" Ashley. These boys need to sell and sell fast!

This reply is brought you by Cheese Whiz, America's third favorite condiment and number one Frito topping. This is all gotten way out of hand. I have completely given up on most sports halftime and pre-game shows for the same reason. Corporate sponsorship has nearly taken over all aspects of sport. For example, it's insane for highlights to be sponsored and for that matter players of the game. It won't be long before we'll be sitting through infomercials at live events. Shout out to the late Billy Mays. On a side note, pleased with the last minutes of the 3-3 draw yesterday. Go AIG!

The world's first backwards email address.
It just gets better and better, this is certainly getting to the realms of fantasy I expect jugglers and clowns running about instead of Ball-boys and match officials...
