Not many people have been talking about the Champions League match tomorrow … you know, the FINAL match?

In case people aren’t following (and they aren’t for the most part outside of Asia), the AFC Champions League final is tomorrow between Al Ittihad and Pohang Steelers in Tokyo.  Al Ittihad, one of the most successful Asian teams of the past decade, will be looking to add another Champions League title to their trophy cabinet.

The question is will the rest of the world ever care?  I think so.  It may not be soon, but there will be a shift in league power outside of what we conventionally recognize as the world’s top leagues.  I may be in a home when it happens, but it’ll happen during my lifetime.  And I know how to use the interwebs, so I’m not that old.
