Daily Banter – 2.7.2010

Twelve minutes was all it took for Fabio Capello to break the news to John Terry.  Rumor has it that there is more coming about the man formerly known as the England captain that could cause further disruption.  It’ll be interesting to see how he reacts today against Arsenal.  Terry’s gone from England captain to having to prove he can mentally keep it together in the blink of an eye.  It’s crazy how quickly things can change.  Right, Tiger?

  1. Paul says:

I don’t think anyone questions JT’s strength on the pitch. But it’s the team dynamic that will be affected.

  2. Clive Longbottom-Fellow, Esq. says:

I agree, Paul. JT will be fine. But if there are folks on the team who were close to Bridge, I can see them not being to pleased with their captain’s behavior. But then again, I wouldn’t be surprised if a number of them already knew about it.

  3. The Chairman says:

Keep it together? Come on, this is John Terry we are talking about, not to mention that he is facing Arsenal (his favorite whipping boy of a team). Terry (not the greatest athlete of our time) is a fantastic footballer, more so because of his mind. He proved it again today against title fakers Arsenal. He does leave a lot to be desired when it comes to the Friend of the Year award.

  4. Clive Longbottom-Fellow, Esq. says:

True, Chairperson. Once again he did the job at the Bridge. (slow clapping)

  5. RMP says:

The English FA has a done great job – replaced a sex addict by a drug addict. Also it is not sure also whether the new England captain will be fit enough to make it to the World Cup team. So the moral of the story is if you want to be a captain of England football team then you have to be either a drug addict or sex addict. Tiger Wood must be thinking – wish he was playing football in England….

  6. sir Mix-A-Lot says:

Moral of the story is that to be captain of Engerland, you need passion…let’s not get caught up in the technicalities of what for (sex/ drugs). Besides, every kid in the country thinks they have what it takes to put the coveted arm band on now. “If JT can do it, so can I.”

  7. Clive Longbottom-Fellow, Esq. says:

People want to act like you can always separate your personal life from your professional life. Sometimes you can. It’s just a bit more difficult when your personal failures involve your professional teammates. That’s both a personal and professional issue.

  8. RMP says:

I wonder how much he paid her to keep her silence….
