So France has decided to suspend all 23 members of its World Cup squad after their less than stellar behavior during the World Cup in South Africa. Laurent Blanc, the new French coach, proposed this action in a meeting with the French Football Federation. The 23 players are suspended for France’s next friendly against Norway on August 11. The horror. Incroyable.
So these 23 players will get some time to rest from international duty. That’s hardly a deterrent for players. The headline should read, “French World Cup Players Get Extra Time Off.”
