Happy August, friends. Hopefully you’ve been enjoying the time away from European football and have taken some time to sink your teeth into MLS. With the recent designated player acquisitions across the league, there’s a buzz around MLS that’s been missing for some time. Fans of the game who have yet to convert to MLS are talking, and that can only be a good thing for the league.

The momentum in MLS is undeniable if you focus on the quality of player and the quality of play. If MLS was a stock, now is the time to buy. Buy the stock and don’t look at it again for fifteen years. MLS is going to be huge. Not solid, but huge. There are plenty of valid complaints about the league, and the league in ten to fifteen years might look drastically different than it looks today. But the day is coming.

What might the league look like in ten to fifteen years? There will certainly be some positive developments accompanied by a host of negatives. Remember the opening of Red Bull Arena? They drove the game ball out to midfield in a racing car. Bad. But have you seen Red Bull Arena? Good.

We’ll be diving into our vision of good and bad over the next few weeks and your ideas will be appreciated. Let’s play Nostradamus and see where we end up.
