MLS Asian Invasion
The Kansas City Wizards have signed Indian football star Sunil Chhetri to a four-year contract pending visa approval. Sunil has twice been named Indian Player of the Year (2007 and 2009). Easily one of India’s most recognizable football stars, Sunil was slated to join British side Queens Park Rangers (QPR) of the Coca Cola Championship last year, however he couldn’t complete the deal because of work permit issues. Sunil will be the first Indian football star to play in MLS. This is a big step forward in the growth of the league abroad, particularly in India, where there are potentially over a billion new viewers.
A Bridge Too Far
In another low point for English football, Kim Kardashian has put an end to the rumors that she will be dating former England international, Wayne Bridge. How this rumor started is quite the mystery. However, it was reported that the two met while Wayne was away in Miami trying to escape the media coverage surrounding his BFF spat with John Terry. Thankfully, K.Dash has put the Earth back on its axis and the woman known for doing nothing can go back to doing what she does best, nothing.

Four former Oklahoma Sooners football players, Adrian Peterson (Minnesota Vikings), Tommie Harris (Chicago Bears), Roy Williams (Cincinnati Bengals) and Mark Clayton (Baltimore Ravens) were part of an American delegation visiting South Africa prior to the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The players visited a primary school and took part in a kick around with the school kids. From the looks of things, you would think Adrian Peterson was about to get leveled by a linebacker or something. Why else would he be running around with his eyes closed?

Although no formal charges have been filed, it has been reported that those detained have been taken to Istanbul for further questioning. It is anyone’s guess where the match-fixing merry-go-round will take us next.
