Rafa May Soon Walk Alone

by The Chairman

Kool Aid Man Spill

Liverpool coach Rafa Benitez is either insane or trying really hard to get fired.  After masterminding one of the worst collapses in form in recent memory, the Spaniard is requesting £60 million in additional funds for player acquisitions.  Under normal circumstances, his assessment of the team’s needs would be warranted. However, there is nothing normal about Liverpool’s play this season.  With every passing day, it seems that Rafa is looking to deflect blame for the team’s dismal performance.  While there is plenty of blame to go around, much of the blame belongs to Rafa. Ah, the irony.  The man who was one half of the couple primed to replace David and Victoria Beckham as the poster couple of football is back.  Harry Kewell, now plying his trade at Galatasaray in Turkey, is healthy.  Well he was.  He’s actually injured now.  Anyway, after being written off at Liverpool as injury prone, (more…)

There needs to be a 24/7 Rafa Benitez channel.  All Rafa, all the time.

The minute Torres gets substituted, we look at each other and say, if (or rather when) Lyon equalize, they’re going after Rafa’s head because of this substitution.  Forget that it may have had nothing to do with the equalizer, but that’ll be a talking point.

Lisandro Lopez

This man could very well cause a world of problems for Liverpool this week.  Last time these two teams met, Lyon came from behind to win at Anfield.  This is not going to be an easy journey to the mainland by any stretch of the imagination.  What’s it going to take, Rafa?

Management Under Fire (Counterpoint)

by Clive Longbottom-Fellow, Esq.

Kool Aid Man Spill

My counterpoint to G.B.’s Management Under Fire post may not be as eloquent as the original post, but eloquence isn’t always my thing.  The thing is, unfortunately, coaches get blamed for everything and get fired after poor runs. But players are often allowed to suck regardless of the fact that they are megastars on fat salaries who are allowed to get drunk and do the robot on Sunday nights while hanging out of the sunroof of a moving vehicle.  It’s not just Rafa.  And it’s not just the coaches … although some of them are hot garbage.  The players need to be blamed as well.

Management Under Fire

Liverpool owners: The two old guys from the gallery in the Muppet Show.

Liverpool Football Club is one of the biggest brands in football.  However, for the past two decades, the club has struggled to produce the consistent results in the Premier League. This season, four straight losses may signify the beginning of a crisis.  But this crisis is larger than inconsistent play on the pitch. It started in the back rooms of the club. Liverpool is struggling because of a management crisis because (drumroll):
